Election 2008

Hillary Clinton saw her shadow: six more weeks of campaigning. She even won in Texas, where she used the narrative of how she started out in politics organizing for George McGovern in 1972. Me, I wouldn't spend so much time boasting of my contribution to a man who lost 520-17 to Nixon, but I've never been that sharp on politics.

I was reading the New York Times and they gave Obama 1311.5 delegates. That's it, NYTimes, you're out. No more reporting from you. Well, unless the half a delegate was a tasteless joke about a midget who pledged his support for Obama. If that's the case, you're still in.

Watching Bush endorse McCain right now.

Don't know how many ways the reporters can ask THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES about how ineffective or harmful his endorsement will be given his approval rating.

Mwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!!

Earl: It's okay, Bush didn't have his feelings hurt. I'm pretty sure he's riding out the rest of the term while high.

Amera: I like the NYTimes too, actually. The only thing that really annoyed me was when they decided to make the columnists a "premium service." I have an inalienable right to Dowd, Brooks, and Krugman, dammit.

Not to defend the NYT, but you know there really are 1/2 delgates, right? They are the foreigners. They let democrats abroad vote in a special "abroad primary", but the delegates only count for 1/2. See here:

When I first read this I thought this was more crazy talk from Booty, like when he told us he could fly and shoot laser beams out of his fists. Because why would the DNC invite X delegates and give each 1/2 a vote when they could invite X/2 delegates and give each 1 vote?

Then I remembered that everything the DNC does is ridiculous.

You mean the Sunday magazine? It's pretty good. I like the short columns and about 1 in 5 of the long columns interest me.
