Florida Day

Big day today in Florida. The Republicans are holding a primary and the Democrats are trying to pretend their primary doesn't exist. Why should you care? Because a poor finish could end the campaign of Rudy Giuliani, Republican representing the great state of 9/11. And I think that no matter what your political affiliation, background, or belief structure, we can all agree that Giuliani is a douchebag.

In non-politics, here's a joke updated for the 21st Century:

Customer: Waiter, waiter, what's this mercury doing in my sushi?
Waiter: Bioaccumulating.

Here's to Rudy finishing 4th today!

All I know is that after 9-11 when he was "America's Mayor", he was still pretty much hated by the heroes of that particular time and place. The NYPD and the NYFD. Douchebag, indeed.

can you explain the sushi/mercury joke?

Earl: C'mon, Huck! Rally! Make third place!

Carl: It's a variant on "what's this fly doing in my soup?" "the backstroke". Bioaccumulation is where a heavy metal (mercury, lead) works its way up the food chain leading to high concentrations in top predators like tuna.

See, it combines an old joke with science and conceptual humor. On a scale from 1 to funny, it's about a 2.

Hey I've got a great idea Rudy. You drop off the face of the earth for 3-4 weeks, get zero national press, then you can save your resources so you can be forgotten by the time of the Florida primary!!

You were wise Rudy to jump onto my wagon of ideas!
