History of the day for October 22

In 1876, in a Deadwood, South Dakota saloon "Wild Bill" Hickok is shot in the back of the head in the middle of a game of draw poker. Ever since, the hand of two pair, with black aces and black eights, has been known as the "Dead Man's Hand," even though Hickok was actually bluffing with a jack high.
