History of the day for September 14

In 1947, in a San Francisco diner, four rational, intelligent adults successfully split a check, including tax and tip, in only a couple minutes. According to our records, this accomplishment has never been repeated anywhere.

i hate the feeling when the tip is a dollar less than it should be. cuz then I sit there and wonder three things:

1. Did I do my math correct?
2. Was I being cheap?
3. Was someone else being cheap?

Cuz if I toss another dollar in, then I'm subsidizing someone's extreme cheapness or their math error. And if it happens repeatedly, then I'm also causing myself expense that I can't really afford since I don't make a lot of $.

I hate splitting checks.
