Graduation is very very boring

At MIT the official graduation ceremony goes through every undergrad, masters, and doctoral student. It takes approximately 57 hours to complete. Maybe it was closer to 6. The speaker was Ben Bernanke, an MIT Ph.D. in econ who is now our fed chairman. The first words of his speech were "First I will give you a brief history of economics at MIT. In 1881..." at which point I died a little inside. He went on to explain that communism was bad, free markets are good, and technology and economics need each other. Somehow that took twenty minutes. But I do have to feel bad for the guy. He's following Greenspan. No matter what he does people are going to hate him. He could shit roses and people would tell him that Greenspan would have shit solid gold.
