History of the day for March 23

In 120, General Maximius Lucius complained to the Senate of the Roman Empire that "Hey guys, you know what I've been thinking recently? We go into northern Europe, Africa, and Asia, and all we do is kill, kill, kill. I mean, come on, guys...do we really want to known as remorseless killers?" By a Senate resolution passed unanimously, General Lucius was summarily put to death.
