History of the day for February 24

In 1960, Bela Julesz invents the random dot stereogram (later made popular by poster series such as the Magic Eye) when he discovers that when subjects relaxed their eyes looking at certain patterns, about half saw a floating 3-D image and the other half had brain aneurysms trying to see it too.
