History of the day for December 3

In 1948, Peter Goldmark invents the LP record, able to record around 22 minutes per side, and revolutionizing a record industry previously restricted to 45s that only could hold a few minutes on a side. Sadly, although Goldmark wins praise from the masses in 1948, he is burned in effigy twenty years later when Iron Butterfly releases the 17 minute In A Gadda Da Vida.
