And on a completely different note, I was trying to translate "truth or dare" into German, and as far as I can tell, it translates to:
Wahrheit oder Herausforderung
Doesn't quite have the same ring to it, does it? I wonder if "truth or dare" sounds as bad in other langauges besides German.

Truth or dare in Vietnamese is:
Su?. Tha^.t hay la` Thu? Tha'ch ?
pretty cool, huh?
That is cool, Lee Ann. Do you speak Vietnamese?
Hehehe -- European Mythbuster Fan!
I've been called worse :-D
Truth or Dare I think is generally translated as "Sandhed eller konsekvens" in Danish. That's not a word for word translation though.
No, I do not speak any foreign languages. I know a few words here and there of others, but cannot speak them. I have a vietnamese friend, and I asked him how to say it.
When I lived in Texas and in South Florida, people used to approach me speaking Spanish all of the time (I guess because of my dark hair and dark eyes). I used to look them in the eyes and say..."I speak English". Then they would usually smile and move on...(I wish I could have understood them:)
Lilly: If you get a chance, could you tell me what the literal translation of "sandhed eller konsekvens". Does it mean something like "truth or consequences"? Because that's also a phrase in English for an old game show/town in New Mexico.
Lee Ann: When I saw your picture, I wondered what you might say when confronted by the question: Hablas tu Espanol? Now I know.
You got it, Jiggs -- that is the literal translation!
Not bad ;-)
Jiggs....I speak English!
hahaha
Lilly: I'm very good at deciphering cognates between germanic languages. Danish is a Germanic language, right?
Lee Ann: Sprechen Sie Deutsch? Although I guess you're in my du circle, so Sprichst du Deutsch?
Jiggs, I don't speak German...only English
;)
You got it -- again, Jiggs!
Do you speak German or is that sentence a one-off?

LOL @ Fred :-D
I speak german very badly. I am a master of autobotese, ancient and otherwise.
